We wanted to build a business we could be proud of, with loads of variety and a stack of fun to do. We also wanted to have a unique name, and settled on ‘Lettuce’ after a few too many cocktails on Sydney Harbour a few years ago. Others names considered were broccoli, rhubarb, brussell sprout and cauliflower. Subconsciously I think we were trying to champion the widely shunned veggie world.

Head Honcho Charlie lives up to the Virgo characteristics of the perfectionist. She has seven years of experience organising and co-ordinating events, namely West End movie premieres and private parties. She loves broccoli, SingStar and champagne, but champagne doesn’t love her back. Her secret dream career is being a drummer in a band, and she's a vegetarian who likes nothing better than a good old BBQ.

No.2 Jozie has 12 years' experience in corporate marketing and is the epitome of ‘can do’. However, she can’t ride a bike and runs like a duck. Always the first person to line up shots at the bar, Jozie used to own a red power suit and thought everyone was staring because she looked good. She's a frustrated DJ who fancies Leonardo Di Caprio and eats like a trucker!

The Lettuce family like to carry out venue & drink ‘research’ most Fridays, fight over the 'good' chair, are guaranteed to lose their receipts and are always the last ones to leave a party.
